Here at Amore we do not believe in mixing breeds, commonly known these days as " Designer Dogs". A mixed breed dog is a mutt, the pounds are full of them.
Contrary to what most think, any breed bred to a poodle is not hypoallergenic, and they do shed. If your looking for a dog that IS hypoallergenic and non-shedding then a purebred poodle is the best breed to get. Another misbelief is that crossing two breeds makes a healthier dog, wrong, mixing makes for a dog with twice the amount of possible health issues or doubleing up on specific ones. Most people that breed the "designer dogs" do not do any health testing and don't know about the dogs in either pedigree, they do it for the money these dogs bring in, some of the mixed breeds sell for thousands of dollars because of the fancy label that has now been put on them. Many of the mixes live in large kennels or puppy mill situations and are usually bought from other puppy mills or from very low quality lines. These type of breeders do not care about health, just breeding for the money.
Do yourself a favor, if you like 2 beeeds get 2 dogs, not 1 mixed with both, you really don't know what that dog will look like or the type of personality it will have. I have put this on my site because I have had calls wanting a "bernerdoodle", I do not, and will not ever purposely breed these two breeds together!! I love each poodle and berner we own for the breed they are, mixing them would not be the same.
